Getting to and around Taghazout

Taghazout has no airport, no train and no real bus network. Everything runs on taxis, transfers and lifts — here is how all of it actually works.

The short version

Agadir Al Massira (AGA) is the airport, about 45 minutes away. From there it is a pre-booked transfer, an airport taxi, or a grand taxi with a change in Agadir. There is no direct bus worth the effort with luggage and a board bag.

Once you are here, almost nothing needs a car. Taghazout is walkable end to end, Tamraght is a ten-minute grand taxi, and the spots that need driving are the ones you would want a guide for anyway.

Day trips and onward journeys from Taghazout.

Do you need to hire a car?

Usually not, and this is where people waste money. If you are here to surf and taking lessons or guiding, transport is included or arranged, and the village is walkable. A car sits parked for most of the week.

Hire one if you are an independent surfer chasing swell up and down the coast on your own schedule, or if you are travelling with small children and a lot of gear. Otherwise, grand taxis and the occasional pre-booked transfer will cost you less than the rental plus fuel.

Frequently asked

How do I get from Agadir airport to Taghazout?+
